  Delivery Dates

Why we can't give "Guaranteed" Delivery Dates

While we will always try and provide you with an estimated completion date on vehicles as they come in the repair shop, this will most likely change once we have disassembled the vehicle and fully inspected the vehicle. The biggest reason we can not guarantee the delivery dates is due to insurer interference in the repair process, including demands to use inferior aftermarket parts that do not fit, and then must be replaced, failure to timely inspect or re-inspect vehicles and the lack of adjuster knowledge and training in the collision repair industry.

Insurers also make demands to use certain low cost providers for repair parts which have to be returned and re-ordered due to poor quality or lack of availability. Some of these parts represent significant savings to insurers and we understand and agree with some of their efforts to reduce claims cost. But some insurers take these too far and in the end it makes them and repairers look bad. We then get the blame for taking to long to repair a vehicle. What insurers fail to recognize is the amount of administrative cost on our end to process returned or low quality parts and the significant impact on our production scheduling.

We also recognize the fact that due to the large quantity of sheet metal parts that we receive it is not uncommon that we receive some that have been damaged in shipping and then must be returned for replacement or repaired by our shop personnel. In most cases we try to obtain a replacement part as our cost increases significantly on repairing these parts. This also wrecks havoc on our production scheduling.

Most insurance companies look at an estimate and total up the repair hours, then try to estimate that on average a repair shop will produce an average of about 4 units of billable time per day. What they fail to recognize is the fact that we we must start and stop on the process because of their own inefficiencies, and they don't take into consideration drying time for certain epoxies and refinish materials. They also act like it is the only repair that is in the repair shop. Insurers also do not take into consideration shop workloads and expect a shop to begin working on a vehicle as soon as they inspect a vehicle, even after it has taken them a week to even initially inspect the vehicle.

We always do everything we can do to expedite a repair through the shop, after all we don't get paid until the repairs are completed and delivered.
